CNC Plasma Operator (Burn Table) | South Houston near Hobby | $19-$20/hr | Temp-to-Hire

Lofton Staffing is looking for an experienced CNC Plasma Operator for a metals supplier in south Houston, near Hobby Airport. You’ll run a high-definition CNC plasma table, cutting steel plate parts for customer orders from start to finish. This is a day shift, temp-to-hire role for someone who takes pride in clean cuts and accurate parts.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Read work orders and blueprints to understand what each job requires
• Program the plasma table to cut parts to spec
• Load the correct plate, choose the right consumables, and set cut speed and other settings
• Lay out and nest parts to get the most out of every sheet and keep scrap low
• Check parts throughout the run to make sure they meet quality standards
• Do a final count and quality check, then package and tag finished orders
• Handle routine upkeep on the table and keep it running smoothly
• Use a forklift to move plate and finished parts
• Measure parts with a tape measure and micrometer
• Complete job paperwork and shipping tags
• Wear the right PPE and keep your work area clean and safe

What You Need

• Experience operating a CNC plasma or burn table
• Ability to program the machine and set cutting parameters
• Ability to read blueprints and work orders
• Forklift experience
• Comfortable using a tape measure, micrometer, and basic shop math
• Able to lift and move steel parts up to 50 lbs
• Able to stand, bend, climb, and stay active for a full shift
• Able to pass a background check and drug screen

A Plus If You Have

• Experience with high-definition plasma systems
• Background in a steel service center, fab shop, or metals distribution
