Mason Tender/Construction Laborer
A family owned and operated business is in need of a full-time construction laborer, technically called a "hod carrier." This is a physically demanding, entry-level construction role that serves as a common stepping stone towards becoming a mason, with the potential to grow into a lifelong craftsman. You will be working with skilled artisans who have built and remodeled some of the city's most iconic sites and stately homes. The position includes assisting our tradesmen with various tasks related to casting and plastering operations. Must be able to safely and efficiently perform these tasks, follow safety procedures, and work well as a team to meet project deadlines.
Specific duties include: - Transport and mixing of materials (mortar, concrete and plaster)
- Carry bricks, blocks, stone and other masonry materials using a hod, wheelbarrow or other equipment
- Set up and break down scaffolding as needed
- Stock materials so masons have a steady, uninterrupted supply
- Assisting with loading and unloading delivery trucks
- Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE
- Keep work areas clean, organized and free of hazards
- Perform general labor duties as directed
Pay Range - Inexperienced person $15/hr
- Experienced (2-3 yrs) in same or similar industry $18/hr
- Possibility of overtime on Saturdays

Requirements:
|
- Experience working on site - home construction or masonry is a plus
- Physical stamina - able to lift and carry heavy loads
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment
- Withstand extreme weather conditions
- Ability to follow safety procedures and work well in a team
- Steel toed boots and Workman Standard long pants
- Company provides N-95 masks, safety goggles and logo t-shirt
